Promptly the Meet the media meeting starts ( I got there late leaving the Henry Winkler Lunch early to cover the Media meeting) I don't know if NFDA Executive Director: Christine Pepper opened the meeting or if she ever took the floor, I did as Christine to explain how there is a 6% increase in membership when a couple of years ago we hear there are 15,000 members, and recently publihed membership of 8,200 and the number metioned today is 12,000 members, could she help us understand how going from 15,000 to 12,000 is an increase, Christine said sure John! Fay Spano has packets for you all and it's explained in there. Later I was told NFDA represents 21,258 Funeral Directors, 12,451 funeral homes and 9,627. Funeral Establishments.

NFDA President Mark Musgrove did his best to boast of what has happened, with the election over, there is really no changed instore for NFDA, Musgrove misinterperted some questions and wanted to Save to the Traditional Funeral which to him is Burial, after a brief engagemnt on the issue, Musgrove hopefully will be re thinking his wish to Save the Traditional Funeral.

Dough Hernan, Funeral Service Insider, asked many questions about the growing plan for NFDA to Police it's own members, he had a berarge of quesions on the issue.

Bob Vandenburgh Fathering the idea of NFDA Policeing Program was there to field most of the questions on the upcoming program

Chris Raymond, Editor of NFDA's Director Magazine is looking good.

When I left the camera on Chris, he gave us a laugh.

NFDA's Fay Spano passed out Preliminary Media Coverage packets explaining NFDA's Life Worth Celebrating program.

Above is Harold from Canada, He asked great questions, he put the NFDA Staff and Officers on their toes.

NFDA's Mark Musgrove was delighted to continue his conversation with Funeral Service Insiders Doug Hernan after the meeting ended.

Later on in the day I ran into Mortuary Mangement's Ron Hast and Steve Nimz (they represent the very best in Funeral Service Journalism), I asked Ron and Steve where they were at the NFDA's media meeting, they said they were not invited. I know that feeling, Ive been at this for ten years and NFDA has only invited me to three of these meetings. NFDA can ice people out when they want too, aparently Mortuary Mangement Staff is left out of NFDA's loop.
