We all headed out to the front of NFDA's elegant headquarters for a photo on this beautiful spring afternoon.

We all enjoyed this new fraternity, as well as the fresh Wisconsin atmosphere and hospitality, speaking of which, if you ever get the opportunity to visit NFDA's Headquarters, a couple of tips, use their preferred hotel "The Sheraton in Brookfield " is most accommodating and five minute ride to NFDA, another tip, Midwest Express Airline all business class seats, first class food and that charming Milwaukee Hospitality while onboard.

To put it in New England terms, the food was WICKED GOOD!, Thanks to one of my cyberpals I was whisked from the easy to use Milwaukee airport to a viewing of the new Star Wars movie "Attack of the Clones" dinner at Butches Steak House, next day I enjoyed a tour of Milwaukee, including the Brewers Baseball team's spectacular new stadium and we saw an architectural miracle the Milwaukee Art Museum (www.mam.org) and just a block away from our hotel was Fudruckers, great food and atmosphere.

Funeral Professionals from every angle did come to the Future's Forum, consumer, service, supply and education sides made a most interesting mix. The breaks gave time to share ideas one on one and to build a new fraternity

I've been to probably a hundred
professional events in my career and none can compare with the
peaceful setting of the NFDA's Home. NFDA's headquarters would do
well to host more events in this awesome facility.
What Happened? during this three day
process, we spent most of our time engaging in sometimes heated
discussion hammering, out what the future could hold for funeral
service, a remarkable embracement of the concept an industry outsider
"Marriott" using their resources to give our families an enchanting
mix facilities and service through an already standing complex
integrated organization, with a phone number of 1-800-TRUSTUS could
challenge our current ways.
NFDA promises to send us a complete
report on what the Futures Forum did encompass, I am confident this
material will be available to us. It would not be fair to render my
opinion on what the text outcome should read. I humbly suggest you
take a good look at what report comes out of the Future's Forum,
especially the services that were suggested, they are what we may
need to move towards.
I want to thanks especially John
Carmon for thinking of me, I got move value out of this than I ever
expected. I also congratulate NFDA's President Bob Vandenbergh and
NFDA's COO Christine Pepper for putting together the team that
inspired this much needed event.
Next time you see one of the NFDA's
board, congratulate them on their dedication to lead our
industry.
We need people to continue to look to
our horizon for new destinations and creative ideas to help us all
serve families better.
BOTTOM LINE: WE ALL WORK FOR THE BETTERMENT OF FUNERAL SERVICE PROFESSION AND THE DEATH CARE INDUSTRY THE CONSUMERS WE SERVE AND THE PROFESSIONALS WE WORK WITH.
